“Crystal Meth Meltdown” from CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY

By Steven Fales | June 29, 2010

This is one of the more harrowing scenes from CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY. Please do not try crystal meth. It is highly addictive and can significantly diminish the quality of your life and rob you of your your health, your relationships, your career, your sanity,  your teeth! I have had to get help for the binging that this one night continued to lead to. Fortunately, there is help out there. I used to think I could do it alone. But I found that was one thing I couldn’t do by myself and recovery was something I was not going to be able to do perfectly. (For someone who always had to be perfect, this was, in a way, a huge relief. I guess I accepted I was human!)

This scene is not meant to be triggering. As the character in the scene crashes, I hope it is a call for us all to either consider staying sober . . . or to consider becoming clean and sober. It doesn’t matter how you do it. Just do it. All any of us has is today. There is no shame in recovery. It’s not what they call you, it’s what you answer to that counts! To thine own self be true.
